Hi guys, I made another post here regarding a no star but I got some more info on it and thought it would be better to make a new thread with a better title.

I have also posted on the FB North American Diesels group, got some suggestions there but hoping I can get some more guidance here.

2011 335D, 314,000km (195,000mi).
Tuned for deleted DPF, EGR, Swirl Flaps, NOX, DEF

I bought the car not running from a friend, he mentioned he got the tune done and car drove fine, but supposedly ran the tank quite low a few times and eventually the car stopped starting, just cranks.

I towed the car home, connected the battery - cranked a few times and battery got weak. Hooked up another car with jumper cables, cranked a few times and no start. Tried one last time and to my surprise the car started and ran great (one small vacuum leak). When it was running, I noticed the tachometer was reading 0, even if I revved it up a bit.

Shut the car off and it wouldn't start back up, just kept cranking. Tried scanning with Carly, can connect and scan all modules except OBD. Lots of codes on other modules I will include below. Tried hooking up ProTool and still cannot connect to OBD.

I bought a battery tester/charger, charged it up and it holds charge and tests fine. Still no start, tried with another battery in case mine was bad, still nothing.

Changed crank sensor, still nothing. Grounds seem fine, tried grounding engine out to chassis still nothing.

Checked fuses in glovebox and whitebox in engine bay, all seemed fine. Pulled DME out, not wet or damaged. Actually DME was supposedly replaced and matched to the car early in my friends ownership and it ran fine until this issue.

Now that the battery is fully charged, Fuel Pump warning comes up on iDrive along with many other warnings.

Any tips on where to start, I am ready to buy a new lpfp and fuel filter, but just want to check if its getting fuel, so I am assuming let the car prime and disconnect fuel line somewhere and see if its sending?

Take it to a professional. You're not fixing that with a fuel pump

Try checking the ground to the DDE.

Connected to ISTA, module tree showed DSC lit up red. Unplugged the DSC and now the car starts up! Whole lot of codes to go through now though.
