Totaled!
Walked away without a scratch or any aches and pains.
Bought the car at the end of July for invoice. Ins. Co. paid off MSRP

sorry dude, but no way did you make impact with a tree at 50mph. I estimate impact speed 25-30mph.

I think if you had impacted at 50mph the car would be much worse as you would be too.

I also would not be happy driving around in a car thats been that extensively damaged before. Why dont you sell on?

Well its all relative, speedo may over read by 4-5mph, and thats the last time you looked. most people dont look at their speedo before they crash. I dont think you would have been ok if you had impacted at 50mph. 25-30mph IS a BIG impact, your car was wrecked so you were lucky. It could have been far worse.

Manual tranmission? Have BMW replaced under warranty? do you think something is not fitting right which is putting pressure on the Transmission?

What are the panel gaps like? Paint match etc?

40mph near head-on collision. Both airbags deployed. Everyone walked away without injury (me+wife+2 dogs). The other driver was ticketed for failure to yield.

BMW saved our life, bought another one 7 days later (335i this time!)

2007 328i -> 6MT, ZPP, 6FL, xenons. Car was totalled.

The other driver did not have enough insurance to cover our damages

Were your dogs belted in somehow? We let our dog roam free in our SUV and it does worry me.

The dogs were sitting on their beds in the back seat. They are boston terriers weighing a total of 15lbs each. Luckily they just hit our seat backs and spent the rest of the time playing with the firefighters and EMS on scene.

-My folks are veterinarians and they checked out OK afterwards.

Got hit in the rear by a Merc ML. We were travelling at around 80 before I hit the brakes due to stationary traffic. The ML couldn't stop in time. Spun me into the centre reservation barrier then across three lanes into the nearside barrier. No airbags went off. The rear chassis/floor was bent. It was all repairable but not economic for the insurance company. Car was written off. I am still suffering with neck/shoulder/back problems 9 months later.

On the brightside I have a far nicer replacement now
