I love it and I think most people will love the aggressive look it has...but for me the Camaro is the winner still!

The last generation Mustang seemed to get most of its styling cues from the '67 and '68 model. This new one follows the trend when the '69 and '70 Mustang went to a more aggressive front end and sloping rear fender.

The problem I had with the recent Mustang is the cheap, hard plastic--a big disappointment. If BMW made the Mustang, the components would be padded. I bet you that anything you touch in that interior aside from the seats and steering wheel is as hard as a rock.

Looks great. Plus you can extract outrageous power from that supercharged 5.4L for not a lot of money. Gotta love forced induction. Hopefully the new model will knock down resale values on the S197 Shelbys. People still want $40k for '07 GT500s with 15k on the clock when the MSRP on the '08 is $43k.

This is a very good point. Discussions on e90post circled around how the new car looks like the previous generation; if Ford followed this model then I can see why. Ford though loses points on originality regardless.

That said, pre-production pictures of the interior of the new Mustang show it to be much improved. The color of this car looks really nice as well.

The front end's lines are too soft.

Better than my BMW did, then... I think the E38s lost half their value in the first two years... And the E38s were/are good cars!

As for the Mustang, the interior is supposed to be softer in this one, but you have to remember it was also designed around a price point. For a lot of us that like go-fast toys, the strokability of the dash is of very little importance. I mean, I've street-driven race cars that had a dash made of metal that was just there to hold the gauges... So spend the money on going fast instead of soft touch materials that tend to fail early anyhow.

And as for handling, they've done just fine in road racing and autocross for a number of years now. And the new one is supposed to be considerably better than the '05-up versions, which actually worked surprisingly well.

Nice car. Looks like it needs to lose 500-700 lbs and replace the rear end with an independent suspension.

I love the aggressive look. Certainly looks much better than the normal Stan, but what is it with the interior. It is Godawful!

This version looks leaps and bounds better than the GT and the camaro looks leaps and bounds better than this version. The biggest disappointment of this generation mustang is the power output from the base & GT models.
