Anyone running Delrin shifter bushings?

Anyone used these when doing a clutch job? How's the feel, is it worth it? I'm looking for OEM+ upgrades when I do my clutch in the spring.

How about the shorter shift knob like the one below. Are these plug and play or require a different shifter kit? The travel between first and second gear is quite long on the OEM shift knob. Not looking to do a short shift kit. N52 doesn't put out crazy power to make it worthwhile.

Something like this. Is there a leather one without the M badge? My car is M-sport package, but it's not right to have an M badge on the car.

Garage List
I've had Delrin shift bushes for a while now. No issues, and tightens up the slop that had developed through wear. As my car is European Sport spec, I've never felt the need to reduce shift length as, to me, it's perfectly weighted and just the shift length I need as stock.

Hope that helps.

The white ball-joint socket will make an improvement if yours is worn, but that's just an OEM piece.

The front oval bushings can make the gears feel a little more clicky pushing the shift rods forward back. Kinda depends on preference.

The blue bushing at the rear doesn't really have much effect on feel vs OEM. It also may (or may not) transmit some non trivial NHV into the cabin, particularly in combination with the harder oval bushings at the front.

The rest of the parts are metal OE replacements that you don't need unless they are damaged during disassembly.

When I did mine I only bought the front ovals, a real cylinder, and a white ball joint cup. All OE. Probably aftermarket OE.

I also got the same shift knob w/o the M logo. It was an amazon knock-off for about $30. It's misaligned clockwise a smidgen. Works and feels good. Exactly what you'd expect from a 2" shorter knob.

Biggest difference in clutch is removing the helper spring

After much searching, I'm able to source a Genuine BMW zhp style short shift knob without the M badge. Only problem is it isn't weighted. 3.3oz vs 5.4oz on the zhp. How big of an impact is the weighted feel?

Unfortunately, if the feel on the weighted knob is better, I may have to go with the M-badge one.

Update:

Canceled order, not Genuine BMW. It was almost the same price as a Genuine BMW one for a chinese knockoff.

Update:

Genuine BMW Zhp shift knob came in. It's like having a short shift kit on a budget. The feel is amazing and travel between gears is much shorter.
