Inceredible CDV install!!!

Alex (HyperM3) is THE man!!! Thank you so much!!

Everyone was telling me to this mod for a while but I never got around to doing it so I took a ride down to Alex's and got it removed.

Guys, if you haven't done it already, this is a must have. The feel of the transmission is absolutely different, such smooth transitions now.

He also did the golf tee mod for me as well, can't believe I never got around to do this before either. Highly recommend!!

I will be getting the Helix Attache soon and will hopefully see Alex again to install it.

Alex, thanks again and nice meeting you!

I've been debating whether or not to do this mod. I got my e90 about a month ago. It doesn't cause any warranty issues or anything? And also, does it interfere with the hill lock function or whatever it's called?

Not sure if it voids your warranty but I doubt your dealer will ever notice since Alex takes out the original CDV and replaces it with the OEM CDV just with no valve

I don't think it interferes with the hill assist. DO IT!! It is essential, I cannot believe I didn't do this earlier.

Alright, thanks for the advice. I'll look into it for sure because the shifting, especially from 1st-2nd is pretty rough!

It will only affect the part of the warranty related to the transmission...but then again, if you're always worrying about the warranty you'll never get to mod your car

the golf tee mod is relatively simple. I just reached up behind the bumper, pulled the vacuum line off the exhaust valve, and plugged the line with a screw. If you disconnect the solenoid behind the tailight, you will get a code stored in the computer, and the dealer will want to know why you were back there lol....

Hill assist feature still works perfect after I can attest.

Like the others, I highly recommend this "mod" as I also hated the 1-2 shift. Should take less than 30 mins if even remotely handy (and I have an xi with damn front driveshaft in the way).

Just in case you don't know, DON'T buy a "modified" CDV, just push out the inner inner ring with a small drill bit/screwdriver and put your now 5 second modified CDV valve back in place.

Sal,

What is exactly is the shameless plug? Is that the switch for the glovebox? How much are you selling the attache for and is it the latest version? Thanks!

Golf Tee mod is cool. If you really want to heat a nice sounding 335, come hear mine with AE.

It was nice meeting you too. Glad you were able to finally come down and get it done.

No, it doesnt void the warranty. FWIW, the dealer wouldnt even know it was done since its the exact same OEM part in there.

Dave: I had no clue you were taking pics while I was under the car LOL.

I hope you've done this by now because this is THE SINGLE BEST mod you can do to your car. My car shifts as smooth as can be now and I am wondering why I'd waited so long. Alex was really easy to schedule with and i think he REALLY could have done it blinfolded. 1-2-3 he was done and it shifts as smoothly as my old '84 633csi which is how all Bmw's should still be out of the gate. $45 is the biggest bang for the buck you can possibly do to your car without a doubt. Thanks Alex!
