I see these issues posted on various forums and social media but no one seemed to pinpoint the cause.
1- clunking from rear right side when going over slight bumps etc? 2- air blowing noise from front left vent, closest to side mirror? Happens when accelerating over 50mph Any thoughts? |

8 pages for your first sound. Cliff notes: there is no fix yet but BMW apparently is working on it. It may be software coding for adaptive suspension causing the noise. |

I mean the window is closed. And it almost sounds like vacuum. I feel it its either the air vent or the little speaker there

As for a "known issues" sticky... Well, that could be difficult. What would the threshold be for a complaint to be a known issue? And what may be an issue for some might not be problem for another. I wonder how many people don't even hear the knocking noise in the rear? I wonder how many would say that I'm crazy for making a stink over it? I suppose everyone here— being big-time enthusiasts— are sympathetic to such objections, but in "real life" a lot of folks just aren't that particular. |

But it appears it has gotten BMW attention at least. Hopefully a solution for those affected is figured out. Last edited by danallxt; 01-12-2023 at 12:30 PM.. Reason: punctuation |

I have visited the dealer multiple times to fix the first noise u mentioned. My noise came from the sunroof and the rattling was gone after they lubricated the sunroof rail, but the noise came back after maybe 2 months. i just bought several pack of sunroof lubricant from FCP euro and try to fix it by myself if that happens again

I'm not big on hijacking threads and I'm sorry if I irritated anyone when I brought up the VFR thing previously. It has nothing to do with the subject at hand. So for THAT— I draw attention to the sub where that topic is addressed in greater detail:
https://g42.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1903609 As for the VFR.. I've had a couple— a 2008 with an 800cc v-tech power-plant and a 7th Gen VFR with the 1237cc V4. Purists don't consider the 1200 a true VFR, but the engine in that thing was automotive art on par with the B58— especially after an ECU reflash. It had torque like you would not believe. It was lacking as a touring machine (too sporty and not enough range) and it was too heavy to be a great track bike. It was like the Porsche Panamera of bikes— a cross-continental rocket ship. I miss it. Here the two are the day I traded one for the other. The 1200 is the red one. |
