Vargas DI Delete Kit
Since when has this been a thing? I mentioned that someone should make a kit like this in another thread months ago but I wasn't really serious about. Anyone have a ball park how much more it would cost to get up and running with PI only? Is this going to become a real thing or is this just a dumb idea by Vargas?
I'm not sure if we're aloud to post links...so just search for "VTT N54 DI Injector Delete Kit" |

basically my thoughts as well. Couldnt you also kill two birds with one stone? Could run any PI injector you need for desired power goals right?

Yeah I'm pretty sure sharing links is OK as long as your are not the vendor themselves or the company.

Another positive is if you're still on the original HPFP you wouldn't need to worry about that down the road.
Looks like the PNP MaxxECU just came out in the fall for the N54. Last edited by Yotaismygame; 01-13-2023 at 01:09 PM.. |

https://*********************/thread...54.7228/page-2 Spool street cant be linked but if you google Maxxecu and N54 information will come up
Little information about the Maxx Ecu and PI only. The link I posted for the adapter is actually just the adapter for the ecu. So $950 plus just for the adapter. MaxxECU's are not cheap. |

OP
Withholding any opnion / fact about the manufacturer, you will have to run Standalone ECU which makes the OBDII irrelevant, of course none of use have modified street cars, because thats illegal

Yeah....buy the time you buy the delete kit ($300), the MaxECU ($1,000), a port injection setup with a larger LPFP pump(s) ($1,000+), and pay someone to do the tuning......spending some money on a few new OEM injectors doesn't' seam like that bad of a deal.
Everyone keeps talking about the crazy $3K++ price for a set of injectors....but how often to all 6 actually go bad at the same time? NEVER. Replace the leaky one(s), and move on. Remember...you can mix and max all the different index injectors all you want as long as you code them in correctly.

More info. https://www.gstuning.net/mediawiki/i...54_PNPECU_Wiki
This definitely sounds like the real deal and could make the n54 much more reliable. But its not cheap at all. |

Here's what I came up with so far.
DI delete kit Vargas with HPFP plug $400 PI kit $500-1000 with injectors. Lot of options on that.. PNPECU adapter for Maxxecu $950 plus add-ons Maxx ECU only $1500. Custom Tune? I have no idea if that's all that is needed but after a few hours of research that seems like the bulk of it. Now you would also probably need a LPFP. Definitely not a cheap setup but if you have a stock N54 vehicle were thinking of pushing 500hp or more, need injectors anyways, need a HPFP eventually too. It might not be a bad way too go. Especially if you planned to daily the car for some years. |

Don't you lose a little power when going from Di to port injection only? I always heard that one of the main advantages of DI is that it let's you run a little more timing and boost without detonation issues when compared to standard injection on the same motor. It's also more precise with the fuel delivery, and has better fuel atomization and is overall more efficient.
Maybe it's not enough to much difference in power.....who knows. |

I'm just happy that their seems to be people out there paving the way for PI only. Clearly the price hike for index 12's has accelerated this. Covid strikes again! Seems to be some guys out there running PI only and they only have good things to say about it. Maybe another year or so prices will come down and it'll be a no brainer..? |

Plus you have to keep some money aside to replaced anything in a month or two that has the name "Vargas" on it as it's surely going to fail LOL

decent amount of guys on the Facebook forums are di delete full port. Drift hq also makes the di delete id go that route hate to see vtt make money 🤣. In my opinion it’s to much work to be worth it on a stock engine. These guys are built motors deep in the 30psi range. If you are that deep into your build than it makes sense to get rid of the failure points of the stock dme and stock injectors. Way more control and adjustability on a aftermarket ecu

Maxx ECU the best route for track-only
Been on a MaxxECU for 6 months now, full PI and will never look back. Depending on injectors and turbo setup, the sky is limit on power and the MaxxECU gives you infinite control over everything.
I run this through an AIM PDM and it is absolutely insane how clean and easy to track all engine parameters. You don't have to spend the money on the PDM as I also ran it on the SoloDL with no issues. However as a full race application, the PDM is the correct solution. Super easy to mix & match E85 and petrol as the mixture is calculated and correct timing, boost etc are applied. It is the long-term solution for racers. My days of finding junk yard engines are a thing of the past. Longevity improved, removing so much of the stock crap. Not sure I would recommend this for street applications though. It is an investment for sure. |
