So my E92 hit a tree....
My girl was driving my car and he hit a small tree. Tho not a big tree, the damages are heart breaking:
I live in Waterloo, ON. I got a quote from a local body shop: Mytrek for $7000. Can anyone recommend a Good Body shop in Waterloo, or the GTA? Thanks alot in advance guys |

Too bad you don't have a Longtran out there.
$7k is overkill. Only body damage, right? Just the front bumper, lip, fog light, and both fenders? Good luck. Hopefully you can find a body shop that will give you fair pricing.

He needs 2 new fenders and a new bumper, the hood is bent at the front, so that needs to be repaired, and the whole painted (hood included). So $7K is a lot, but not abusive.....

Is that a crack on the driver side fender in the first pic or is that just a light pole nearby? 7k actually seems about right, like Bimmerista said...

Sorry to hear about the damage.
Just curious, how did she accidentally hit a tree at speed? Doesn't look like there is any snow on the ground there. |

and ya I didn't get my snow tires yet, wasn't in the country for the better part of December, and didn't get a change to until now. The top hood isn't damaged, from what I can see it is just both the side vendors, the front bumper, and the lip. There might be a little internal damage but nothing major. As for the quote from the body shop, I don't know what I was expecting, but 7k just shocked me. |

If you are interested in a high quality shop, check out the Hefner Lexus dealership in Kitchener near Fairview mall. My guess is that their qoute would be in the $7K area or more, depending on damage to the stuff you can't see. http://www.heffner.ca/CommunityInvol...0/Default.aspx Not close the universities, but they are experienced in satisfying picky owners |

I would estimate that as being about 5k worth of damage, from the outside. If it is out of pocket, can't the fenders and bumper be repaired, which is cheaper than being replaced.
Having owned a car in the past that was not fixed properly after a collision, I would suggest making sure that if the frame is slight bent, etc, that those inside things get fixed as well. Some places will do an amazing job on the outside, but can leave the hidden parts in a frightening state. Someone backed into me in December (remember Soni?) and since it is mainly just damage on the DD front bumper, I'm taking it to a fairly ghetto place tomorrow to get fixed up. The guy's done good work on our other cars, so I'm willing to take a chance with my E90, and will let you know how it turns out. I'm sure he would quote your job at around 4k. |

Sorry to hear about your news. It must be heart breaking to see your baby in that condition.
I have heard that Mytek is VERY good. My cousin owns a dealership and he swears by them. I've had a total repaint on my other car including custom paint. It was done by Kieswetter motors and they did a great job. Good luck! |
