BMW E90: Driver seat air pump makes a continuous noise (continuously pumps air?)
Hello!
I have an E90 M-Sport with Sport seats. The seats have pneumatic adjustment for the side bolsters + pneumatic adjustment for the lumbar support. A few days ago I started to hear a continuous noise in the driver seat. I removed the panel behind the seat and pulled out the pump that deals with pumping the air for the adjustments I was talking about above. This pump seems to pump air continuously (makes a constant noise), but in reality nothing inflates, the position of the seat adjustments remains the same. Also, if I try to adjust the lumbar or the sides of the seat, everything works correctly, both inflation and deflation. Also, with each button press, a relay is heard (clicking sound), proof that no relay is stuck open. So the only issue is that the air pump is continuously pumping (it looks like at low RPM). Here is a video: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/0uqXBurvvtk It does this permanently, even if I lock the car (and no key in the keyfob). Any idea why it does this and what can I do to solve it? |
