hi every one, this is my first turbo car and im learning about turbos and mods, I have a 2012 335i N55 dkt, my actual mod list is:
Injen CAI catless downpipe vrsf charge pipe red bobines (not sure if this helps in something other than esthetic) next thing I want to buy is the vrsf FMIC, not sure of the size, y think that's the last thing to get it FBO, or I am missing something? the other thing will be repro, I was told that a stage 2 will get mi close the 400 bhp? an MHD can be enough? witch one is the best one? i want to keep the car as reliable posible, I don't want the crazy numbers... I'm not sure what fuel you have in Mexico, but yes, FMIC is the last thing needed for any OTS tune.
MHD is all you need. You'll need the flash + monitor licenses, or just get the super license. It comes with a whole host of maps. If you have 93 octane there, then you should be all set to run the stage 2+fmic map which is the most aggressive pump gas tune. If you have E85 in mexico, there are a few OTS tunes for ethanol mixes (like e30, etc) which will give even more power. With an N55 you probably can't quite reach 400bhp but you'll have tons of torque. With some ethanol, you can reach 400bhp. Hope this helps and enjoy! |

While MHD is good and easy to use, a dyno-developed custom tune will get you better results and, at least in theory, be safer to use.
My E92 N55 DCT with a custom remap dynod to 275kw (that's ~369 hp) on regular fuel (98 octane or 93 RON in the US) when bone stock except for a charge pipe. Throw in a catless downpipe and a FMIC and you will be right in the 400 hp alley (not to be confused with 400 whp, which seems to be the preferred unit of measurement in the US). |

You can get a custom tune for MHD. Street tune > Dyno tune in most cases. If the OTS maps aren't quite what you're looking for, have someone like Wedge, V8bait, or Twisted tuning make you a custom map. They still use MHD btw.
