Volkswagen CLS?
What's the new Volkswagen that completly rips off the Mercedes CLS? I saw one on the road the other day.

Yeah, it's the CC. I saw it at the Auto Show in Detroit. Looks really nice. VW also has an amazing concept roadster at the show. Looks really hot. I'll try to post pictures.

I saw the new VW at the LA auto show. It confused me.
They have a Rabbit/GTI, Jetta, and than the Passat. I though the CC looked like the new Passat and not a step up. I think they have too many models. They should have just made it the new Passat or got rid of the passat altogether. Plus the Passat base MSRP is $2k more than the CC.

You're right, the pics from the NAIAS are of their concept roadster. Here is a pic of the CC, which looks much like the CLS...

Yeah I thought that too, but I posted that in other Auto Show thread and no one else agreed It's definitely got a "baby R8" look too it.

I worked at a volkswagen store for about ten years and they are the worst cars I have ever seen! I got so tired of being yelled at by angry customers I quit in 2004 but it was an adventure everyday! Just as an example, in the summertime the cars would leak a sound deadner out the bottom of the doors onto the rocker panel it was some kind of snotty wax substanc. Window regulators broke consistently and freq, sometimes two and three times a car! But the crowning jewell was the tdi engine! We got a tsb a tech service bulletin, that said timing belt replacement was recomended at 25k miles!!!! I think that they are the worst german cars ever to be assembled in mexico:ma d0260:

not to mention that the paint was horrible and had looked swirled to hell when we pulled off the plastic! And it left more glue behind than one could even imagine.

a large percentage of TT buyers are in it more for the look than the performance (ie: women). If this thing starts at 10K less than the TT and is still 'cute', it will likely pull a large number of customers toward this car.
