Webasto retrofit

Hello guys,

I'm not sure if this is the right section to ask this, but - I have a e92 - 320d ( built 28th august 2008 ) and I was so stupid not to order webasto ( auxiliary heating ). Here ( Romania ) the winter are quite cold and I think it should be quite nice to have the car already warm when I decide to leave home.

Can you tell me please ... aproximately how much this retrofit should cost and if implies major modifications to the car systems ?

I'm not sure if this is even possible.. BMW had the Webasto as standard on the E46 320D some 8-9 years ago. It was sitting in the aera where we have now the ECU in the E92.

On the second generation E46 BMW changed it to an eletrical coolant heater which was located at about the left front wheel well

On the E92 BMW changed it to an electrical heater element in the interior heater/airco unit

In my view there's no room to fit a webasto anymore..

I have the BMW heated seats which work great.

But if you want to pre-heat the engine I believe that wil e difficult..

I looked here -> http://www.realoem.com/bmw/partgrp.d...61&hg=64&fg=95 and it seems that there is an option to do it, I shall call bmw today to ask them ...

I also have leather with heated seats, it's not this problem, but I am thinking that it's better to have the car already warm and the engine coolant at optimum temperature when I start the engine in the very cold days ( -10, -20degrees ) - it's good for the engine too
