What do you guys think of the Navigation System?
Ok I just want to get peoples input on if they think that the navigation system in the E90 is I dunno, over rated? Do you guys prefer to have a nav or would you rather have no nav? I personally dislike the way the nav looks, I like the radio set up more its in my opinion more sporty, less luxery and umm as my friend puts mommy....

That depends! Personally to me it was very important option because I get lost very easily and Navigation really helps me , I use it all the time. Real time traffic information really helps as well, saving you time in unwary conditions. The new Generation iDrive is awesome ( i agree the previous generation iDrive interface was clunky) comes with hard drive to store music and you get HD radio option with it. if you don't use navigation often then may be it's not for you !

I like the Nav and would not get a BMW without it,
My BMWs is a road car. This is what the interior of a track car looks like. No Nav, no AC, no radio, and a full roll cage.

Hello OP,
I think you should slow down on the New Topic button. You've made more threads than days you've been on here and most of them are about topics that already exist and are easily found. Please familiarize yourself with the Search button. |

Navigation system from 2006 through 2008 sucked major ass. It is probably one of the worst GPS navigation system out there. Just entering a destination address is a struggle because the iDrive lags so much.
The 2009 version looks very promising though. High definition maps and easier menu system. Felt more responsive too. |

I have the navi in my car. I got it mostly for the phone and ipod integration vice the navigation. I have a Nuvi that does a better job, IMHO.
This is my second 335 and the first did not have idrive and it was a PITA with the radio controls for the phone and ipod. Much better now. |

I can speak from personal experience that the 09 nav is worth every penny. I would still end up getting the nav if I got an 08 though, just wouldn't be as nice and simplified.
09 iDrive all the way.

I have mixed feelings about the navigation system on my e92. It works great as a gps, but the search for POI just plain sucks.
Try finding "Kragen". I bet you can't find it. If you can, please tell me how. Gary |

I use yelp on my iphone for that stuff... but otherwise the system is impressive imho. i was in a different city the other day and 2 roads surrounding my destination were completely closed... nav system offered the 2 alt routes without me even having to pull over and im not the saviest w/ electronics

[QUOTE=convinceme;3935833why will the forum overload or something?
Anyways. I get it [/QUOTE] No, the forum will not overload but you will contribute at decreasing its value. When a user searches info about a topic, its nice to have all of it in a few threads than to have all the info scattered around the forum. So the less you will hit "New Topic" the more you will contribute to this forum |

I don't have any qualms with Navi in my '08 E90. Granted I have not used it for navigational guidance very often however the selling point for me was the integration of my phone and Ipod with the I-drive. The look and feel with the Navi screen was much nicer and user-friendly (IMO) than in the non-Navi car.

I have an 08 Nav and I think it is one of the worst Nav systems I have ever used. The 09 looks better but I couldn't tell you if it is better or not. I still think the stand alone Nav systems are a lot better.

If you have an '09, you just go to "Search All Categories," enter "Kragen," and hit return.
