Recommended PPF Coverage Areas

Planning to do a front clip PPF install (full hood, bumper, fenders and mirrors) on a newly purchased 2023 xDrive45e in Dark Graphite Metallic. Installer is reputable and does excellent work -- quoting $1995 for the job using 3M Pro film w/ ceramic infused topcoat.

Question: are there other small areas I'd be well advised to do? Thinking maybe the door edges and/or painted portion of rear bumper. Has anyone else seen areas prone to chips/scratches?

Thanks!

Price sounds right. I'm also having just the black part of the rockers done. I stopped there so there is no visible line. I'd also recommend doing the carbon fiber roof if you are not getting a ceramic coating.

I've had a full front PPF and I had the headlights and the A pillars done too, also the full length of the sills (rockers for non UK people) and inside the door jambs too.

I've had all the gloss black exterior trim PPF'd as well.

If you have the black high gloss finish on your console put PPF on it also to avoid micro scratches.

I was curious about this -- is the console glass or hardened plastic?

I'm almost approaching a week with the vehicle. Let the temp/new clear protector film on display to prevent micro scratches until I figure out what top surface is made of.

Are there any specialty-made glass protectors like one would put on an iPhone screen?

(Edit: Follow-up -- yes, appears that glass screen protectors are offered thru Amazon)

I don't think that the Black High Gloss trim on the console is made of glass. That being said, I would not use a glass screen protector like you would use on a cell phone or iPad. You could either use a clear PPF or a black PPF to protect the Black High Gloss finish. Companies like Xpel even have templates on their websites for the shops to use to protect the interior surfaces.

Cover the painted portion of the mirrors. Cover the horizontal portion of the rear bumper where you might drag items out of the trunk. I have seen small pieces covering the space in front of the rear wheel openings to protect from debris kicked up by the front tires.

Everything but the roof and trunk lid. Rockers, quarter panel, and behind the wheels at a minimum.

My rocker panels after 9K miles of city driving.
