Tail Pipes & Leather Cleaner
Okay, my S5s pipes are filthy and must be washed, this will be the first time I have cleaned them so just imagine their state. They are chrome, and im looking for suggestions as to what materials to clean it with.
2nd, I would like to condition and clean off the leather I feel like it may be getting a bit of premature wear so a little protection is in order. I assume Zaino? Where do I buy and what do I need? Thanks guys.

I personally like Blue Magic Polish (I think it's called that) or it's called Blue Metal Polish...... You can pick it up at autozone..... For your leather. I HIGHLY suggest the Leatherique Leather Kit........It's IMO the best stuff on the market. It's worth the money ![]() |

Sorry to bump my old thread, but I just ordered my Z9 and Z10... So it sounds like I need some sort of brush to apply this? Where can I get one, will AutoZone have something I can use?

I use my hands, I'm very weary of using a stiff bristled brush on my leather seats...

Greeney - for the leather cleaner, it's good technique to use a soft brush like a horsehair brush to work the cleaner into the pores of the leather before removing it with a towel. You can also spray on and just rub it in and remove it at the same time using a terry towel, but I find that brushing it in works way better to get all the dirt. The Swissvax leather brush is popular (I use a no-name brand that is similar): http://www.detailersdomain.com/index...ROD&ProdID=281. When you get the brush, brush through it a few times with your hand to work out any loose hairs so they don't come out when you begin using it on your seats.
When applying the leather conditioner, put it on your (clean) hands and work it into the leather by hand. Apply it as you would apply sun block to your own skin. Don't overuse the Z-10. A little goes a long way. Also, just a note for those cleaning their tail pipes. I think Jared meant to say #0000 steel wool, not #000, which is more coarse. The finer the wool, the better. You can get it at Lowe's or Home Depot. I like Mother's Chrome Polish, but as Kgolf31 said, any metal polish will work. Best of luck! I'm jealous of your S5. ![]()

Clean your leather once a week with water and a soft towel, if you stay on top of it, it will never get very dirty. Water is like a natural leather cleaner. You should only be using leather cleaners a couple times a year when oil and dirt gets bad, and forget the conditioners as they only add more oils to the leather and do more bad then good...
You'll be amazed if you just wipe it down once a week, your leather will feel soft and look like new. |

Its like rubbing suntan lotion on someones back. As a bonus(?), the smell drives my dog crazy (he likes it).♠ My wife is the only person I've run across that does not like the Zaino smell, but she doesn't like the new car smell either.
