what did you do to your non-BMW car today?

so i did a search and could not find a previous thread like this. it seems that all of the BMW model-specific forums have a "what did you do to your [bimmer-specific model] today?" however, many of us obviously own and enjoy non-bimmers too -- porsche guys i'm especially looking at you!

i'll get the thread started with an update on my mini. it's a 2015 that we bought last year with just 35K miles. today she got new shoes! i replaced the thrashed out OEM 15" rims with some motegi MR116s 16x7 wrapped in yokohama avid envigors.

Just before the winter hit here in Canada, I replaced the silly big round steering wheel on my Audi RS5 with one from an RS6 (smaller diameter, thicker rim, and flat bottom). Feels so much better.

I also want to see this bare shell restoration!

I have a longer running thread about my Cobra already, but figure i'll chime in here too. I ordered a replacement rear Viking shock and collars to replace a completely frozen coilover, and UPR sent me two. Success I guess, nice to have a spare if needed.

Might get around to replacing this weekend if the weather is nice, but also have a style bar to install as well. That's been on the to-do list for a minute, but it's a fairly intensive job.

Took my 2011 Cayman for a drive yesterday morning for some coffee. Car drove fine. Came out that evening to grab dinner and it won't shift into any gear when the car is running. Spoke with my independent Porsche shop and they said it’s either the pressue plate that was installed 1500 miles ago or the clutch fork. It will either be free to fix or around $900 to put in a $40 clutch fork. Ahhhh....the German car owning experience. My M235 has been bulletproof for over 7 years of ownership. This Cayman though....we'll see. LOL

I bought the Porsche Classic radio/nav unit for the Bug as a Christmas gift to myself. I pulled out the old deck the other day, need to tidy up the wiring and will put the new tunes in as soon as we have a nice day to work out in the driveway.

I love that the Porsche Classic head units are a thing!

Thanks! Hoping to keep that one fresh, still have some plans and things to do. In the next year or so I'd like to swap the whole supercharger setup for a big single turbo, but we'll see!

Suns out, I got bored so I went out and did the install. Didn't give me the grief I thought it would. Might have a rum in the hot tub now.

That flat bottom just feels and looks nicer. Have similar one on my GTR.

Thanks! I would have liked the red calipers, but the ceramic brakes only came in blue for 2022.

It's so much better! Not sure why Audi would think that a big round wheel would be good (especially for an RS car). It was like driving a school bus.

Hell yeah, that's a *project* and love to see it. Looks like a ton of fun and i've always loved those cars.

No updates here besides the weather has been killer so i've been driving it a lot. BMW hasn't even moved in a few days, feels weird.
