Bluetooth Connection
Does anyone know what new phones on the market will work with the bluetooth connection??? I printed the list off the BMW owners area and went with it too the phone shop for my upgrade.
None of the latest phones are on the bloody list, and of course you can't try the dam things before you sign the contract. Any ideas anyone????? or what phones have you folk got that work. oh, and does a Nokia 6220 work?? |

Most contracts will allow you to return them within the 1st week
What phone did you want, once you know what you want, just ask others around here if they have any problems |

The only phones I have had problems with are Nokia N Series which pair for sound but don't transfer the phone book. I also had a samsung Omnia which when using the bluetooth made it sound like I was a dalek. Have now got a SE C905 and all works fine - although BMW could speed up a bit with getting snap in cradles sorted as the list is miles behind the current models!

I mentioned the out of date BMW phone list a short while ago, and like you am looking for a new phone, the 6220 and the 5310 being on my short list. |

So does mine. Just don't put contacts in groups. Otherwise you'll get a java exception error when pairing.
I had a Nokia 6230i that worked perfectly for eighteen months before BMW told me it wasn't compatible. Strangest thing about them telling me that was on their website the phone used in the photograph was the Nokia 6230i sitting in a snap-in adapter. Sure didn't sound incompatible to me. And the actual problem was the Bluetooth antenna connector was damaged.

The iPhone 3G connects fine, syncs the addressbook & shows signal strength on the iDrive without any problem, as long as you have the latest 2.2 firmware. Viv |
