Cold weather = cause tire to loose pressure?
Yesterday my TPMS was warning me I have low tire pressure.. I thought I had a flat or something, but I cannot remember hitting any potholes, unless there are some wheels.
So, I parked my car, and I checked tire pressure in every wheel, and all 4 look good? Then, I reset the TPMS and it still says low tire pressure! So, I just pumped a little, about 2-3 seconds in each tire, and now, then I reset the TPMS, and no, driving for 2 days, the warning never came back on. So is it the cold weather causing the tire loose its pressure? or should I get my tires checked out at the dealer, which is really a hassel I try to avoid. I have OEM A/S RFT on right now, and about 2600 miles on the tire and the car actually.

Yes. This has happened 2x to me, each on very cold days. I'm no science guy, but I think that when air warms, it expands. And when it cools, the opposite happens, and as a result, the pressure inside the tire decreases ---> TPMS warning.

I did think about the cool/warm air factor, but didnt think it was that cold and enough to trigger the TPMS warning. (after all, we're talking about only low 30s F, not like I am in Minny where its -20 F)
Thanks for the reply

What's scary is that's 11th grade physics. Many don't grasp that, math, or even understand why when air gets into the braking system the car can't stop. Why, there are even people who cannot amortize a mortgage with Excel, let alone a calculator, nor pencil and paper (like our grandparents). Anyway, -1 lb. for -10 F is another way to look at it.
