Removing adhesive from spoiler on matte paint
Anyone know if wd40 or 3m general adhesive auto remover is better for getting the adhesive off from the oem spoiler? Or any other suggestions welcomed

1. Rub what you can off with your fingers.
2. Follow-up with WD-40 and a paper towel. Make sure the towel is fairly "wet" with WD-40. The towel is "aggressive" enough to pick-up the adhesive, the WD-40 breaks down the adhesive and keeps it from resticking. 3. Use a degreaser like Simple Green or quick detailer with a microfiber to get the WD-40 off the body. 4. Give the area a small patch of wax to protect the paint. WD-40 is amazing for getting decal residue off paint.

Don't need chemical solvents, just use and eraser wheel. goto 6:30 for eraser wheel.

Wax, eraser wheel, buffing?
I'm guessing many here are not familiar with frozen/matte paint as you CANNOT rub the paint! I don't know what kind of adhesive is left, but if you can just slowly pick at it without rubbing the paint, that's your best bet. Other than that, maybe take it to a shop that has experience with frozen paint and see what chemicals they recommend. |
