Best car around $25,000
So I have to get rid of my car. Looking to jump into something around $25K to keep the payments low. Any suggestions? Would love to stick with a coupe that has AWD but can't think of too many that have that. Looked at a used A4, any thoughts on Audi's? Hate to jump over to one of those but they seem nice. Thanks Guys!!

AWD, 420 HP. Used Jeep SRT8. You could probably find one with less than 30k miles for around $25k.
I'm biased... |

If looking new, Mazdaspeed 3. They are doing a redesign for 2010 and speculation of 300+ hp.

+1 - This just knocked off the Mazdaspeed 3 as one of the top sub compact cars (a spot it has held for awhile) in either Motortrend or Car & Driver (cant remember which).

Mazdaspeed 3 is not bad, although it has mega torque steer and a pretty narrow power band.
The new 09 WRX is pretty nice as well.

I read a great article on these, they perform for the price.
I loved mine. And miss it, but i think this 335i will do. They are such different vehicles, the Jeep was so damn torquee and raw. And the 335i is so much smoother, i can't really FEEL how fast i'm going like i could with the srt8. But anyway the GC SRT8 is a great truck, I drove mine for 30k, 8k with a 150 shot of nitrous that I used liberally and never had any big problems. Look around, they are going for cheap. |

I can't believe this hasn't been said yet! I would take this (clean, good condition, 6MT) over most cars up to the $50K range.

+2 on the WRX
I drove a Impreza for almost 4 years, great car, no real problems through 110k miles, cheap to maintain/fix out of warranty, plenty of mods available, fun to drive.

I have a 2008 VW GTI that I really love. Still on the top 10 list for C&D.
I paid around $23k, love the plaid seats, loaded with all the cool stuff like Xenons, 6 spd manual, 200HP turbo engine, sat radio, nice wheels, red brake calipers, allow pedals and footrest, etc. A real good bargain. Only issue I had was the two front struts were making noise and were replaced under warranty. I also got a great deal on the extended warranty. 7yr/100k for $1200. It was around $2500. I like the GTI because it blends in, does not draw attention like my 3 series did, and is a lot more fun to drive. Probably because it is smaller and lighter (3100 lbs). It is a 2 door but I swear the back seat is as roomy as a 5 series. Also, I believe starting with 2009 model year, VW is offering free maintenance during the basic warranty period (3yr/36k), Power train warranty is 5yr/60k.
