I tried a quick google search and didn’t see any results. Obviously the car is still very new. Does anyone know who will/would sell some mudflaps for the G87? Those wide hips are going to kick up a ton of debris.

https://g87.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=2026714 Install is super simple. Pop some rivets out in front and undo some fasteners in the rear. Don’t even have to remove the front wheels if you don’t want to. |

Have not driven on gravel roads and never will. Limit myself to paved roads. But even on paved roads occasionally I hear the tires encountering some small bits of dirt/sand/gravel. This from dump truck traffic. There's always a bit of dust/dirt and bigger stuff on the pavement carried by the dump truck tires. While I can hear stuff getting thrown up by the tires and hit the wheel well liner I don't hear/see signs of anything being thrown up by the front tires and hitting any part of outside/painted surfaces of the car. Far and away my bigger concern is a vehicle ahead of mine will send a rock flying back and hit my car. All I see is the low pressure area behind the front fenders collect a bit of plant trash (just bits) that a spray of water removes and the rear area of the car collects dust and the most obvious of this is the tiny black bits that is rubber. But that same spray of water that removed the bits of trash behind the front wheel openings also removes whatever collects on the back of the car. |

$75 for some flimsy plastic? What a rip off. I could make them myself and get stainless steel fasteners from the hardware store at a fraction of the cost.

I just ended up getting my rear rockers and front quarter panels PPF'd anyway. Lol.

No PPF at all, at least here (unless they were removed).
I do remember older cars having a PPF that would turn yellow quickly, it was hard to say if it was intended to be kept indefinitely or to be removed upon delivery. I guess that’s how Dodge started with the yellow bumper lip. |

I'm surprised the G87 doesn't come with anything especially since its fenders/QPs flare out far more than the F87.

No chips on mine in 2,000 km, I can’t see how rocks could come up there given how wide the skirts are. But I don’t know enough. I’m not a fan of PPF, that’s why I didn’t go with any.

Nope, no rivets for front for me either. Kind of annoying but just reused the original plastic rivet doo-dads. So far so good.

Be wary of roadside weed whackers and mowers, especially motorized ones, those are real killers because they yeet all the stones they pass over at incoming cars, I suggest an emergency 180-degrees handbrake turn, Sebastian Loeb style, because your precious PPF will do diddly squat.

On my F87, I used these from CADMotorsports on Etsy:
https://www.etsy.com/listing/8467514...-228im235i-f22 For $30, not a bad deal. Sure they don't look great up close, but who is paying much attention to your mud flaps anyway? They tend to disappear even in direct sun. I heard the carbon fiber ones tend to shatter. The kies ones are *expensive* for a flap of plastic. On F87, PPF of some kind + flaps is almost a requirement. Magnet for road pebbles. Probably need to send the seller some measurements so they can CAD it up to produce them for G87, doesn't look like they have G87 specific fitment. They produced some double-thick layer ones for my F87 upon request, so, probably worth a shot to ask them. Edit: Cracks me up every time I see one. |
