E90 Halogen headlamp upgrade advice
Having just picked up my 2007 E90 I would like to fit some of the Angel Eyes to the headlamps. Reading through a few posts I am assuming that I have a couple of options, correct me if I am wrong.
Option 1. Buy a pair of xenons (Either original or aftermarket) and simply replace the entire headlamps. I presume that the ballasts and everything needed are attached to the headlamps and nothing else would be needed making it a straight exchange ?? Option2. Buy an Angel Eye kit, take the headlamps to pieces and fit the 'rings' somehow to the front of the original headlamp surrounds. Then buy some xenon H7 bulbs with ballasts which would be a straight exchange for the original halogen bulbs. Is this as simple as it sounds or will I get fault codes etc. Am I better off just fitting the xenon type bulbs that simply replace the original bulbs but give off a white light and fitting maybe LED side light bulbs. What are the headlights like to dismantle, is it a 10 minute job or whole front end off !! Thanks for any advice |

Option one is the only real solution but is complicated by MOT testers becoming more aware of the legal requirement for self-levelling and washers to be fitted.
Re-based bulbs cause too much scatter and again are being clamped down on. See here:
