Rev By Itself Then Power loss
hey guys ive been dealing with this issue on my 2011 328i E90, where the car when anytime it is brung down to idle for more than 5 sec it will rev to about 2k rpm then almost die, then when i go to drive it it has bad power loss. Fuel pump module? sensors? not really sure
only started doing this after i did my tune and oil change (E85 with Pop tune) any help would be appreciated |

Try first the obvious things with the vanos system, clean/swap solenoids, clean check valves and see if they are operational or stuck, maybe cam sensors... No fuel trim codes?

If the problem started right after the engine tune, why not start there. Have you checked with your tuner?

If not problem with engine tune, check oil filter. make sure the inside housing is clicked in and orings are seated properly, not crimped. The small green oring can cause low oil pressure

No Fuel Codes
i have not gotten any fuel trim codes as of writing this, but i did retune my car for the s65 injectors and it is still having the issue. i also have swapped vanos sylenoids with a parts car and i am still having the issue as well. i am thinking oil pressure or possibly a timing issue or possible disa valve problem

I’f the problem came up right after changing something like injectors and tune, I’d start looking there.
If you want to keep digging elsewhere. Use INPA to monitors vanos positions against target values, oil pressure and fuel mixtures. It’s all there in the N52 diagnostics. INPA is free to download and it’s not that hard to use. |
