255/40/18 in rear?

Hi, i searched but could not find clarification for my specific question.

I have OEM 18" staggered wheel setup on my 335d sedan, with OE tire specs of
front 225/40/18
rear 255/35/18

Am I able to plus the rear tire size to 255/40/18, leaving the front alone? Main reason for this is I found a new set of Michelin 4s's for cheap locally in that size.

I believe the Alpina B3 actually came with 265/40/18's in the rear.

So I can't personally confirm, but it seems like it should be OK.

Yea you can put 255/40/18 in the rear. Doesnt affect anything
And ride feels the same i have that setup installed in my car since
I found a cheaper option for 255/40/18 instead of 255/35/18
On my e90 with msport suspension
