I won the powerball!!!!!

Now what do I do?

OK, so, I haven't actually won it yet. But I'm sure that I will (note to self: buy a ticket). And it's around $1B now which means about $500M lump sum, which will be something like $350M after taxes, so I'll buy everyone here a beer. Or a soda, if you are underage or don't drink.

Natch, I need to buy a new car or two. I really like the Bentley Silver Spur, but I know it's a huge and rather pretentious car, so I'd likely buy an Alpina B7 (I'm sure there are still some G12 cars still around, because the new 7 does not appeal to me) for tooling around and road trips, and probably another M car for the track and of course an F350 to tow the track car...

(Picture courtesy of Car and Driver)

What else should I consider? I like the McLaren, that may be fun. I don't think much of Lambo or Ferrari quite honestly, although I haven't driven a modern one. I really prefer sports cars to have a manual transmission.

Natch I'll need to buy or build a warehouse somewhere to store the collection, but that's just logistics.

And I'll probably buy a new watch... but this is a car forum.

I think I’d rather have a Panamera E-hybrid Turbo S. I realize they are different cars but I have been converted to Porsche and don’t really need anything more expensive.

I regret to inform you that I am the Powerball winner. The only glitch is that I also have not bought a ticket.

The problem is that I already own the perfect vehicles for me. Well, actually, I suppose I could add a convertible to the stable -- but nothing too exotic. A BMW convertible, methinks.

I appreciate the offer on the beer/soda and when I win, I will do the same. And if we both win, that's two beers or sodas for everybody!

I'd have three cars engineered, designed and built. All performance serial hybrids. A 4-door sedan, coupe, and a roadster. Tube framed. Carbon body, EV motor drive out back, engine/generator up front (weight balance). Maybe make the sedan AWD.

The frame tubes filled with structual foam, body panels filled with foam for sound proofing and insulation. No fricking screens except the gauge pod. And develop a deer/animal detection system. I have most of this already designed in my head of course. Lol.

Get car mag and car social media press. Show a design for a CUV/SUV. Prove to the world serial hybrid is "the solution" and get off this stupid BEV bandwagon. I'm thinking $50 million tops. Leaves me $350M for gasoline and to fix up my house and give all my family members retirement funds.

Yes, $350M is still crazy insane money but you Yankees w that scam tax and lumpsum scheme. This was coming from $1B...wth??? What a joke from the govt.

Tbh, it's easy to get caught up in the whole ego game, e.g. "Yeah! Imma get 5 lambos, 3 fezzas, 7 pcars, etc etc etc" but I just want a stable life where I no longer need to worry about $ at all. Truthfully, first car I'd get is a MX-5 RF; I'd probably get 1 or 2 'ego cars' eventually but I won't go crazy and instead try to spend more on others.

GL on the draw.

Did I not hear on the news that there was indeed a Powerball winner -- but in California? Coupled with the fact that I didn't buy a ticket I think that means I'm out.
