2008 E90 316D multiple errors
Hello All,
After getting Ista and inpa working. On different Laptops. The first problem I have. Neither will communicate. Even OBD2 elm327 wont communicate. Story so far. Son stopped outside a shop. Car would not start. Multiple lights on dash board. Told him to check Battery voltage and try jump starting. Car started. Measured voltage 14 v with engine running. I tried when getting home from work. Charged battery. Still problems. Dash lights Steering wheel with !, ABS, Air Bag ,Seat belt , Traction control , Tire pressure and red car on ramp. All lights work. Only front windows work. Radio and heater works. Hazards work Door lock/unlock button does not. No power steering. Unable to communicate on OBD.Inpa/ista Elm327. Errors reported from BC CC-ID 97 MRS Restraint Systems Faulty. Airbags, Belt Tensioners, and force limiters malfunction. CC-ID 73 EPS Inoperative Electronic (Power Steering) cc-ID 207 Central Electronics Failure, Stop Vehicle (Junction Box) CC-ID 719 ????? Could this be a bus problem. IE something or a module is stopping a bus communicating? Common power supply? Dont have wiring diagrams to check. Any suggestions much appreciated. :-) |

It's usual to get a load of spurious codes when the battery starts giving out on these cars. Fully charge the battery overnight and clear the codes. Measure the voltage of the battery if it's still low after charging replace it and code it to the car. Basically tell the car it has a new battery so it knows how to charge it.
For some reason when the batteries on Ex series start to fail strange things start to happen with the electrics and all sorts of nonsense error codes can pop up. |
