Well I look at Ford Aus. products a lot different than I do Ford America products. Ditto for GM and Holden, though GM is nothing compared to Ford IMO, other than the fact that it's a fellow domestic brand- blame it on family:biggrin:. Products developed by Ford Aus. have no influence from Dearborn whatsoever, maybe other than financial backing, but that's it. Besides that, it looks as if Ford is really trying to get its act together and start using their brains, which at this point, they're forced to. As oppose to half stepping every aspect of business as they have done in the past, it's life or death now and its taken a lot for them to get to this point. Unfortunately. I think it will be some time before Fords become cool, if ever, but they are making decent products. I recently drove both the Five Hundred and the new Escape, both cars were built to a much higher standard that I expected, though some of the mechanics were a bit dinky, and the Five Hundred(now Taurus) feels too big behind the wheel. I believe with the standards and demands car makers are held to, (especially here now days), things can only get better.
To the point though, I think this Ford Falcon is way cool! Don't know they'll bring it here, but it is said that Ford Aus. will be doing development work for Fords next/new RWD platform that will be used globally(mirroring GM's strategy with Holden). The Interceptor concept may realize fruition on this platform as a replacement for the Crown Vic, though of course I'd much rather see the Falcon instead. The Interceptor looks too old man, and the Falcon is the brand staple Ford NA could use here at home, with just a little tweaking to make it a tad more familiar. |

Why does Ford shoot themselves in the foot and wonder why their cars don't sell in America? It's cause they don't bring some of those great overseas market products over to the US. If they even brought two of the vehicles from maybe the UK and Australia, they wouldn't be hurting as bad as they are right now.
