What was your first car?

This is my first BMW. Man, I'm enjoying every minute of it - what a driving machine! What was I missing!

My first car was a '72 Ford Pinto (inherited in 1990 from Dad).
It was a 1.6 liter engine, 4 cyl - only 75 horsepower.

Then I had a series of Fords and Mazdas.

My last car was 2000 Ford Explorer XLT V8 (like 215 HP).

That's pretty wild that your dad had an 18 year old pinto.

Yes, and I had it for 3 more years. I regret I sold it - I was almost raised in that car.

This is my first Bimmer.....and it is a lemon. I am so lucky to win the lucky draw in a country that has no Lemon Laws!

My first car was a VW Golf GTi

My 1st car was a 1980 Monte Carlo V6 turbo I got as a sophomore in high school. Red with white leatherlette material. A true work of art.

I ran that thing into the ground in about 10 months.

1978 BMW 733i. Year was 1987. Car looked brand new, but mechanically it was well older than the 110,000 miles on the odo.

Me too.

1984 built Volkswagen Beetle (hecho en Mexico), satin red.

Car was lowered with Koni's, chromewheels with Mooncaps, 1,9 litre with 40er Weber's, about 100hp, custombuild interior.

When I was 22 I bought a 1973 Chevy C-10 Red pickup truck (RWD) from my boss for $600.00. Took me a couple of months to pay him off for it! I lived in Hanover NH, a student town...boy was I popular when my friends wanted to move!

Had rust in the rear wheel wells, had to tape it up to pass inspection (NH)!!

I kept a ratchet set with me to tighten the shift linkage every now and then. I also had to rivet new flooring into the passenger side too, that was funny trying to bend it in mid-winter!

The alternator gave out on me going to Maine one weekend...that was a drag!!!

Of course there was no radio, I kept a cassette player in it with those little extension speakers! That was back in 1982-85. I sold it when I moved to North Carolina to settle some outstanding debt before I left.

Damn I miss that truck!!!

1990 Geo Metro. 1.0 Liter of Detroit Muscle.
I loved how the wiper buttons were on the side of the dash and there were single spring loaded buttons for off, intermittent, low and high. If you didn't hold you hand over all the buttons when you switched settings the previously pressed in button would pop out and shoot the button across the passenger compartment. Was kind of fun surprising passangers by shooting buttons at them.

Thats exactly what the Rewind-button of my JVC tape did in the beetle.
