Vin unable to read
I'll preface this by first saying that I'm relatively new to BMW coding, so forgive me. I was just finishing recoding my MRS5 to remove the active head restraints and the passenger occupant detection sensor (just finished swapping over F80 front seats into my E91). After I got the coding finished message on NCS Expert, without closing out, I opened INPA to check to see if codes had gone away and to do a read and clear. (If it matters at all, I got the chime on the cluster far before the coding finished message)
Now when I go into NCS Expert and open my Revtor profile and try to connect to now code in the performance brake option (just upgraded to E90 M3 Brake Master and F80 front and rear calipers/rotors), I get a message for VIN unable to be read with a COAPI 1085 error. Does anyone know what I can do to resolve this? |

If you have a communication problem with diagnostics you will never be able
to use the other programs. Did this setup ever work? If so recheck your com port setup. Com port number set to the same as the diagnostic setup latency set to 1 Before you start any coding session run Inpa functional jobs F3 and F4 to make sure the diag setup is communicating with the car. And that all the modules are responding. |

Yes, setup did work fine and had no issues doing the first bit of coding. Only after that and reopenning everything, does it now fail. No issues communicating with the car through INPA presently. Latency is set to 1ms at comport 1
I’ve tried searching the forums for the COAPI 1085 error as I only seem to see posts with 2000 listed as the error, but I’ve had no luck Last edited by 0lympicwolf; 08-23-2023 at 01:47 PM.. Reason: Additional info |
