I feel transmission changing gear and minor jerks at 30mph
hi,
323 E90 2010 N52 183000km or 113710 MILES I am noticing these symptoms with automatic transmission, I believe its GM transmission. when in low speeds, I feel the gears are shifting upwards or downwards depending on the speed, gear 1 to 2 shift is very noticeable and jerky though very little jerk. Neither myself nor anyone has done anything to transmission in last couple years I am wondering whats going on, is this normal or I am in trouble? what is the fix, if I am in trouble? Thankyou!

You are due for a Fluid change at that mileage.
Occasionally resetting the adaptations as the transmissions learns your driving and can learn bad habits too so sometimes resetting helps. Finally yes this is normal don't freak out. |

You can try fluid and filter change first. There is also a chance the flimsy pressure switch discs are torn. However you will have to drop the valve body to fix those. If you do drop the valve body, might as well put in a Sonnax Zip Kit.

I noticed shifts can be a bit rough when cold. I have already done the transmission fluid and filter change.

Looking back at my notes, the rough shifts were worse when cold. The pressure switch discs solved them to this day. I am not sure if yours are the exact same problems as I am not a transmission expert, but sounds similar.
Except mine were 1-2, 2-3, 3-4 shifts because of that left-most pressure switch failure. From what I understand, that switch controls Clutch 1-2-3-4 and probably was why. Just guessing anyway. |

I see no difference in shifts. I changed the fluid for peace of mind.
There is debate about whether to reset the adaptations after just a fluid change. I didn't. I would reset it only if I've done the solenoids, valve body and sleeves though. |

I have never reset the adaptations after fluid or filter changed. In fact, not even after my pressure switch fix! Everything seemed to work fine, as it will adapt to new conditions by itself, so I thought. Maybe it would work better with a reset? I do not know.

Change the fluid and filter with some shudder fixx and see if that helps. Don't reset adaptations unless some hardware for the trans has been replaced.

finally i pulled the trigger and changed the oil
there is definitely improvements in jerks, like 75% less jerks. i only changed oil and filter Gear shifts have become now fading shift not jerky i measured the total amount of oil which came out and put same amount and at the same time, i over filled it until it started dripping. the only concern i have is gasket which came with kit, it not like OEM i hope its ok though i have put it already:/ how do I reset transmission adaptations on this? is it only by inpa or there is a manual procedure as well?
