I have a 2011 E89 Z4 with CIC/extended USB/bluetooth/snap in media etc with 677 top fi amp.

I have this weird behaviour usually after the car has been parked outside on a damp / cold day..

On start up CIC and all functions start OK..after about 5 minutes the CIC lid closes and all services shut down..

After 5-10 minutes CIC open screen , reboots and stays active for about 2 minutes then shuts down.

This repeats for usually about an hour then settles down.

Couple of weeks ago it did the same trick but for about 5 hours with 3 shutdowns by me for stops / lunch…

After the 5 hours ran perfectly then the next day it ran perfectly all day..the following day after running for about 1 hour then it shut down for about 2 hours..

Very weird…any ideas or points..

I don’t think it’s a simple MOST connection as I get a warning ‘loss of audio’ if the MOST connector comes out of the head unit..seems as if damp is causing an optical connector to have condensation ?
