What brand tires are you running for winter, I'll soon be changing my rims for 18" style 189 and I have no idea what tires I should choose

I have had great experiences with Michelin X-Ice and the Blizzaks. The X-Ice are my first choice, but I go with the Blizzaks if I cannot find the X-Ice in the size I need.

Nokian HAKKAPELIITTA ( I think they are on R5 now) is probably the best winter tire in the market but doesn't have the market presence as a blizzak ws 90 and michelin X ice.
You can order it from discount tire but it rarely goes on sales or have any promotions like the other big brands. |

I like my Nokian Hakkapeliitta tires. The other suggestions mentioned Blizzak and X-ice are good to, but I do believe the Nokians are the top ones. I read that X-Ice are more suited for like, less snowy environments i.e. cold and wet. Michelin for me were the most expensive as well. I also read when I was searching what tire to buy that the Nokians have better traction as the tread wears down compared to the Blizzaks becasue Nokian use some kind of special mixture in their tire compound, they call it Artic Grip Crystals.
