No Allocations in Central Missouri

A little

I have been waiting forever for an allocation for an M240i so I decided to go with an X3 M40i since the dealer had immediate allocation. In my opinion, some of the pros for the X3 compared to the G42 include iDrive 7, no curved display, an actual gear shifter instead of a lever, still has infotainment/HVAC buttons, ventilated seats. Plus, I am in very rural Missouri so this will be more practical and still very fun to drive.

I don't mind the curved display and know it's the way of the future with all future BMW's. I would just like it to be more incorporated in the dash. Maybe this will happen in the LCI update.

I had an F22 so I know how fun the M240i is, and I know the G42 will outperform the X3 just because it's an SAV but I didn't plan on tracking either of them.

The M240i xDrive is about $10K cheaper though and about 500 lbs lighter.

Video is of a 2018 on track which included the lesser B58.

Never owning an auto until this one I dont really understand the gripe of the nugget shifter. Do auto guys really pretend to bang gears like in a manual with the auto shifter? Seems the paddle shifters would work better obviously better control of car with 2 hands on the wheel.

This is the funniest justification for buying an X3 I’ve ever heard.

You should have bought a 2022 M240i

it's a feel thing. why do people like how BMWs or other cars look at all? it's just preference and familiarity. there's a reason (a very small % of) people are trying to retrofit a gear shifter into new ones but no one is trying to swap the gear selector for a little switch. plus it was a cost saving thing for BMW so if they can give you less and people are fine paying more for it, suppose it's a win win
