Pre-Delivery Damage or Detailer Damage?
Hey all. Gonna run this one by my body shop as well, but curious what the takes might be here.
Had my car ceramic coated yesterday. At the end the detailer alerted me to some damage on the driver's side air inlet i hadnt noticed. it is perfectly smooth to the touch and ends right where the inlet ends, which seems to me at least to support the theory of a pre-delivery touch up or hasty repaint that was exacerbated by detailing. detailer has done many cars for me but i cannot rule out that he did this by accident. thoughts? |

Every M2 delivered to my dealership looked like that on arrival, including mine. I had PPF put on some of the black plastic and all the swirls disappeared. I didn't care much anyway. It's impossible to avoid putting swirls in this plastic.

It honestly looks like the ceramic coating wasn’t removed quickly enough allowing it to cure. I’ve coated a few of my cars and unlike wax, you only have a few minutes to remove the residue. Black will show the coating residue more so than other colors. You should be able to hit it with a fine finishing polish and DA polisher to remove it.
