Week 48-52 Tracking and Support Group

Hope I'm doing this right...

Figured there should be a thread for our cohort of orders. Feel free to share any thoughts/updates here.

I’m a week 48 build. Delivery area is St. Louis, MO. My build sat in RFT for about two weeks. 3-4 days ago I got confirmation from BMW Genius that my car is on Grand Champion. Which is due to arrive at Port of Baltimore on 12/18. I’ll be waiting on port installed MP HAS. My guess is I’ll take delivery 1st week of January. Was origninally quoted late Feb or early March.

Wow! I assume your tracker says “In Transit”? I’m also week 48 but did not make it onto the ship. Production date 11/30.

I’ve had my initial deposit down since 7/2022 so to say I’m anxious is an understatement

My car has been in the "your car has entered the production queue" status for a couple weeks. My CA says it is slated for production to start tomorrow so that would be week 51. I have a long haul in front of me with the car having to get to Minnesota and I added the MP HAS kit. Late February, early March is what I'm being told to expect to get the car.

I will be in Mexico in mid-January and was thinking of talking my wife into an "excursion" to go visit where my car is to take a look . I assume it will still be in Mexico at that time.......

Week 49 build (12/5), currently sitting RFT (12/15). Looking like we missed the previous boat. Expecting delivery in NY by end of Jan per initial estimates by CA.

I'm technically Week 48, although I've been posting in the 43-47 thread.

10/23/23 - Initial discussion with dealership
10/26/23 - Received VIR from CA
11/30/23 - Entered Production
12/16/23 - Arrived at port

Status as of today is 193 "At the port"

I was a week 48 build. Status was “Ready for Transport” on 11/24. My car is current “In Transport” on the Grand Champion and is due at the port of Baltimore late tonight. I’ve got port installed HAS which might delay me a week. Hoping to take delivery the first week of January!

Have you read experiences of others being delayed a week for the HAS install? I also ordered it and have been curious how long that will take.

Another day and another production status check for my car. It still is sitting in this status and has been since Dec 1st: PRODUCTION BEGINS
Today's the day: your BMW has entered the production queue

I called a BMW genius today and they said the car started production the 2nd week of December and that production should be complete by tomorrow, with the quality check and final assembly happening right now.

Hopefully I will see this thing jump through some status steps this week in my view of the tracker.

It's been all over the board on wait times at port for port installed options. Hoping they turn it around quickly, but I think a reasonable assumption is that port installed HAS will add 3-5 business days to the delivery window...assuming they have the parts in stock. Most of the info I have has com out of the Week 43-47 Thread.

Interesting... I also have production date 11/30 but I'm still RFT. I imagine destination may have an affect on this.

Ohh we certainly did NOT make any boat. I was RFT 12/6 and still did not make the cut. Confirmed with Genius today that car is still in transit to the port of exit.

I've been reading that people get delayed with M Steering Wheel and Carbon Buckets, but don't remember posts specifically about HAS causing delay.

Hopefully HAS is in stock. 3-5 days sounds reasonable.

Lots of activity in the tracker since I talked to the BMW genius yesterday....funny how that works....

Car is currently in "Final Assembly" status, and next up is the ever so fun RFT status.

Perhaps getting the car by late Feb/early March could be a reality.

Glad you're finally seeing some progress! I think you should be in good shape for Feb delivery. I was in RFT status for almost exactly 2 weeks. Then it took 8 days to get to port of Baltimore. Even if you sit in RFT for 4 weeks, you'd probably be looking at early Feb. Fingers crossed for you...good luck!

Yep. The last couple days have been exciting. What makes it worse is the lack of cold weather and snow so far this season; there been some awesome driving days here in December. If the snow piles up here my patience will grow on this process. There is a small part of my brain (probably the part that worries about what my wife will say) that doesn't want to have buy snow tires until next winter so getting the car in March could be late enough to wait it out on the tires purchase.

Looking forward to hearing how long it takes for you car to get to the dealer from the port of Baltimore. Are you doing any port-installed options?

I feel you. I was not projected to get mine until Feb/Mar so this has really snuck up on me. While I'm excited to get the car, I was also hoping that it wouldn't be until the projected timeline so that I could skip on winter tires for a year, be slightly more financially prepared, and was hoping to see finance rates fall a bit in Q1. I actually scored a set of 826M wheels with nearly new winter tires for $2k a couple weeks ago. I plan to swap the winters onto the stock wheels. Then get the 826M's powder coated champagne/bronze for summer wheels.

Yes. I've got port installed MP HAS. My car still shows In Transit, but by all accounts the Grand Champion is docked in Baltimore and being unloaded as we speak!

BMW Genius informed me this morning that my car should be leaving the VPC (Vehicle Processing Center) and headed to the dealership on 12/24/23!

This is getting me excited/anxious!

I was told some unclear things from different sources about my timeline, so don't mind me...I'm gonna hang tight until I actually know more about my own timeline.

Once I know, and if it's confirmed my build is within this window, I'll add my info for an extra data point.

In the meantime, I'm just living vicariously through your anxiety...I mean, anticipation.

Nice, welcome aboard. Do you know what port/projected timeline is for a MN delivery? I’m going into NYPOA and am hoping for delivery mid/late Jan.
