Comfort Access not working after battery died and alternator replaced
I have an e93 335i with comfort access. The battery was replaced before I received the car and I later coded and registered the battery to the car using Carly. The comfort access worked when I first got the car which was summer of 2023. I could start it without inserting the key and unlock the doors by touching the handle. I was driving one day and I got a high battery discharge notification on the dash and later in the day the car died while I was driving. I replaced the alternator and I haven’t had any problems with the alternator or battery since (this was 5 months ago). I also registered and coded the battery using Carly again after the alternator was replaced. My problem now is that it’s like my car no longer has comfort access. I’ve read in other forums and places online that the car can go into a “power saving mode” and cut usage of non essential things such as comfort access if that’s the case how would I take it out of this “power saving mode” I’ve searched for hours online trying to figure out what the problem could be and how I might be able to get these functions back but I can’t find an answer. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

First check fuses behind glove compartment.
I had my left driver CA handle fail due to a broken wire after years and years of water ingress at the door handle seal. Passenger handle still worked so I knew CA was still working. Spliced new cable and connector for the handle and after lost all my CA function. Including the passenger door. Led me to check the fuse panel in the car and sure enough it was blown. There’s a little fuse layout card on the panel in the glove box

Regarding the. “power saving mode, the registration of the battery should reset the ECU letting it know there is a new battery and no need for “power saving mode anymore. I would try registering the battery again maybe? 🤔 Not sure if you have or not but have you replaced the key fob battery? |

Check for other features like defroster to see if in fact “power saving mode” it still set. If all works the car is not on power saving mode”. You may want to look at the CA module replacement. It could be a coincidence that went bad too. Lastly I read that your keyfob may need to be coded ans this can only be done at the stealership. Good luck.

Look at your VO and coding and make sure comfort access is still an option. I had issues with my car and I ended up in advanced coding (protools) and I had options disabled that shouldn't have been.

That's not how you check if fused is burned, you need to look at the metal S through the plastic and see if the connection is burned there or solid. You can also use tools to check fuse from the top exposed metal. I use a test light and check both sides if both light up in the car you know current goes through. Faster than pulling fuses out.
