So I just picked up a new 24 m2 earlier this week. This is my first bmw so I’m not familiar with the design language. Build sheet says I have wireless charging and I confirmed this with the dealer, but looking through the owner’s manual (btw I do miss paper manuals), it looks like the charging pad is supposed to be in that center console cubby just in fron is the shifter.

However, I don’t think the pad is there. There no insignia indicating a charger pad there, the space is way too small for my phone to lay flat, and trying to lay it in there anyway does not lead to charging. Did the pad get moved somewhere else for 2024 and without the manual getting updated, or did I maybe pay for a feature I don’t have?

Assuming you have an automatic, yes it's right in front of the shifter & cup holders.

*also, it's horrible anyway. I have a tray organizer in my center console from Amazon and leave my phone there & plugged in.

If you have a stick it’s in the arm rest.

Yeah Manual is the the arm rest and the clip kind of sticks at first, you need to adjust it out to fit an iPhone that has a case.

Yeah, it's not shown in the manual at all. And no NFC, meaning no digital key possible.

Yeah, kind of glad I didn't get it because every bit of available information at order time showed it in the front cubby. Would have been a bit disappointed to have it show up inside the armrest console, because I have stuff I want to keep there.

Generally opted out because I didn't have a good use case. I don't want my phone in either place in the car to be honest.

Kind of a head-scratcher as to why it is in a different spot. Afraid that you would bump the car out of gear reaching for the phone? Not enough room for some reason?

I'm apparently not getting the logic...
