No Drive/Sport (DS) Mode
So yesterday on the way home I noticed that my vehicle was not acknowledging my shifter input to select the "DS" Mode. It had been working on Sunday when running errands with my son. No matter what I did, I couldn't get the Transmission to accept and stay.
The "D" light on the shifter does turn-off, but the "DS/M" light on the left does not light up. I will take manual Up/Down inputs while the lever is on left and with the Paddle Shifters, but it will return to normal "D" (on Dash) after a few seconds. I saw a thread last night regarding wiring/switches in the shift assembly but can't find it this morning. But that thread didn't seem to have the same overall symptoms as mine. Hoping to get this mode back as the weather begins to improve and enjoy D/S in the Spring and Summer with as low of a parts cost if needed. |

It is almost always the wire under the shifter breaking and just needs soldered back together, from all the motion of the shifter the wires eventually break off. Mine was the same symptoms basically moving the sifter to sport mode did not turn on sport mode, you could shift with shifter and paddles but was always in D mode so shifting would change gears but then just go back to automatic, I found 2 damages wires and all good.

Apparently the 130k mile marker is where my car is looking for some attention. Last 3 months for sure. |
