Taking Delivery of Pre Owned Tesla
Any of you buy a pre-owned Tesla from Tesla? It seems all the used vehicles in inventory are super far from me and I'm in the Los Angeles area, not some rural location. Any way to get the car delivered to my home?

Would help to know at least the city... There are ways to get a car delivered. The Tesla dealer (is that the right term?) should be able to advise you regarding how to get the car to your location. Or you can arrange to have the car trucked to your location. One time I thought I'd need to have a car trucked from CA to AR I contacted Intercity Lines. This was (at the time) the trucking line used by Porsche to ship cars around. Back in 2020 I got a quote of nearly $1800 to have a car hauler truck haul my 2018 JCW from Livermore CA to Benton County AR. Roughly 1800 miles. I ended up selling the JCW before I left CA. Just kept my Hellcat... A used Tesla? Have you thoroughly checked out the car? I have read horror stories about used EVs. I'd be very leery of buying a used one. It would only alleviate my concern a bit if the used EV came with a good used car warranty. But with a Tesla even with the best warranty where would you get it serviced/worked on? |

I guess OP has no friends or family that can drive him to pickup his new car.
I never once expected the place I was buying a car from to transport me there.

Teslas aren't "nice" or "luxury" cars. They're cheaply built, cheap interior economy cars that happen to cost a lot more than they should. You can't compare the experience of a Tesla with a real luxury car.

BMW will transport you to the dealership unless you live far away. Even give you a free loaner when you’re getting an oil change. Even rental car places will pick you up.

Not only does the pre-owned car come with nothing, you have to pay to access features already in the car, Tesla keeps ownership over them. So even if the previous owner paid for some features or another, it doesn't transfer to you... You have to Re-Purchase them...
What a joke! Who would ever submit to such ridiculousness? |

Even the new car experience. They greet you by telling you where your new car is and that the app will do everything. That's it, then your on your own. Nothing like a traditional dealership.

i feel you man, but if you want bespoke service buy a rolls. i know thats a hyperbole but there is not such thing as luxury brands anymore unless you cross the 200k price point...tesla doesnt obviously follow the standard dealership model so the fact they don't offer this stuff should be a major sign a tesla is not for you, furthermore you aren't going to get your free coffee and assorted snacks at the MPOWER EXCELLECE service center while you enjoy the wifi and plush leather seating while your vehicle is serviced.

Have you even contacted Tesla about this? They deliver their cars to people's homes all the time...

Not sure what you are looking for regarding your used Tesla purchase. I have no experience buying new (or used) Tesla cars (or any EVs). But I have bought a number of new (ICE) cars (various brands) anywhere from about 5 miles from me to nearly 900 miles (and several states away). With every purchase I either drove myself to the dealership with my trade in or if I wasn't trading in a car I drove one of my cars to the dealer bought the new car and drove it home leaving my other car at the dealer. Then I enlisted the help of a co-worker and we drove back to the dealer and he drove my car I had left at the dealer back to my place. Other times I have had the help of a family member -- who went with me to the dealer when I was buying the new car -- to after the purchase to drive my car home. Or one time I got a cab ride to pick up my car I had left at a dealer when I bought a new car. |
