They did similar along some local beaches. But snowy plover breeding season is about to start, so they are spending a second week to level it all back out.

Sand ain't gonna cut it here. Unless you're ready to fork out big bucks for a rock or concrete seawall, it's time to sell and move.

And if you can permit a seawall.
When we lived in Flagler Beach they were preparing a beach rejuvenation project which would move sand in from an offshore sandbar several miles, then put it on the beach. Guess where the sand for that sandbar comes from? |

Go ahead an apply, but the Cali Coastal commission says NO. They haven't read why you need it, but their future reviewed answer is still NO. Even if you are simply trying to protect roadways by dumping granite at low sand, then covering up.
Only took the local city about 2 years to get it approved. Road were all there this winter.
