17' Arc8 on E90 335i LCI Sport
Hi everyone,
Wanted to post photos of my new setup - 17x9 ET30 Hyper Silver Arc-8’s with a 245/40/17 square setup of Ventus V12 evo2’s. Please enjoy and hope this inspires everyone! My suspension is stock sport pack but its old and I believe its slouching a bit. Let me know if you have any questions! I can’t believe how good it looks with 17’s. Did it for the ride quality / pothole security as Chicago roads are brutal. |

Looks great! I have the same fitment for my track setup with 255/40/17 tires. Very happy with it; no rubbing, ever (I do have a bit of front camber).
I like how the 245 looks. Also love how the brakes fill out the wheels. |

For sure! I've got some more driving to do but am interested to see how I like the square setup - I had the stock 287's and 225/255 before. I also put on zimmerman rotors / akebono pads, and trw m3 upper and lower control arms. Will add more notes after those are broken in. |

These look spectacular! Exactly the look and figment I’m going for. Same size, spec, color, everything! You beat me to it…congrats! Do you feel the sidewalk is too much rubber and washes out in hard cornering or does it still hold and feel stiff?

No way a performance 40 series tire should be "washing out" with proper tire pressures.

The tires on it are not what I would've chosen, but came with the wheels and had nearly new tread so I will stick with them for the time being. The Ventus's are still good, just not at a PS4S/ECS level. So far, I have not experienced that at all. The sidewall is actually even slightly smaller that it would've been with the correct staggered setup - right now, it measures at 98mm. For reference, 18's would have a sidewall of 90mm and a 255/40 would have a sidewall of 102mm. Safe to say I cannot find a difference in terms of roll stiffness - and even if there is one, I believe the benefits of a lighter wheel vs stock will offset that. My ride has also improved with 17's, though it was more for pothole resistance than anything else. Safe to say if I didn't live in Chicago, or if these had a spare, I'd be on 18's. Feel free to ask any other questions you have. |

I'm looking at getting the Apex Arc-8's as a lighter track wheel alternative and the 17's seem good because I'm in a similar boat as you with difficult roads between where I live and the tracks (don't have the luxury of trailering my car to the track...yet). Congrats on finding a solid set! I haven't been very lucky to find any..seem to only be 18"+ so I might have to bite the bullet and buy new here. You definitely sold me! |

nice, does not look like 17'', and fits the car perfect !
I thought about 17'', but I would get larger and higher sidewall tires for the meaty look and fill more the wheel well. Of course this would require speed correction. |

Because E90 speedometers are super optimistic - like 4/5mph over at 80 - you could get probably a 245/45 and I think that would make the speedo dead on. I could be wrong but I believe that’s accurate!
