E92 335is - front strut leaking. Recommendations for replacement?

My 2013 335is coupe's front left strut is leaking (I noticed it a while ago .. finally took it to indy shop for other work, and they flagged it too)

The shop recommends replacing both front struts/mounts/bump stops/guide tubes/hardware. They said they only really use OEM parts.

If you were me would you consider upgrading suspension setup to something else? Different brand/setup? Coilovers?

And if I were to upgrade, I'd need to do the rears too correct?

Lastly the shop quoted $2400 parts+labor for OEM replacement. Is that reasonable? I am in HCOL area (Boston)

Thanks in advance

yes, yes, yes, no (unless dealer direct factory parts)

imo b14 - little lower than msport, bc rm-msport or higher or just b8 all around

$2400 is obscene, but that's dealer pricing. I recently installed Koni Special Active, front and rear, on my wife's E92 Coupe. She is a very happy camper.

Depends what you're looking for in terms of ride and handling.

I'd skip the shop that you went to, and I have an idea of which one it might be. Can make recommendations for a better local shop if you want to go aftermarket / bring your own parts route.

I would consider options from FCPEuro, have them shipped to you, and get a quote for install + alignment.

For $2400, you could get into a nice coilover setup, (factor in some include camber plates to replace mounts, etc) but again it depends on the end goal.
