07 328i not starting transmission code
Hi, I have an 07 328i with the GM6L45 transmission. My transmission was recently slipping so I decided to change out the megatronics system. The change went good everything fit fine , when i put everything back together and try to go start it the car doesn’t start , accessorie mode comes on but car doesn’t crank. Anyone have any suggestions?
(These are the codes i’m getting.) |

One Method you can do, with NO Tools: 1) Turn on Ignition (Insert Remote Key into Insert Compartment & Press START Button, WITHOUT pressing Brake; 2) Does Instrument Cluster Light? 3) If you NOW press Brake, can you Remove Shift Lever from Park Position? 4) If you CAN Move Shift Lever, does "Gear Selected" (P,R,N,D) appear on Lower Instrument Cluster display? That is an indicator of whether or NOT the EGS communication via CAN Bus is working. Please let us know: A) Make/Model of any Scan Tool or Diagnostic Software (INPA/ISTA) available to you; B) Do you have a Multimeter? C) Are you sure you reconnected X8500 Round Connector on upper-right of Transmission? D) Did you inspect for any wiring issues/damage at that connector? E) Did you disassemble anything at the shift lever or center console? F) What are Last-7 Characters of your VIN? Please let us know answers to above, and we can suggest Next Steps. George |

Hi , The car does not display PRND on dash. The car will not move out of park.
A) Make/Model of any Scan Tool or Diagnostic Software (INPA/ISTA) available to you; INPA B) Do you have a Multimeter? I’m not sure what that is C) Are you sure you reconnected X8500 Round Connector on upper-right of Transmission? Yes D) Did you inspect for any wiring issues/damage at that connector? All connections are good E) Did you disassemble anything at the shift lever or center console? No F) What are Last-7 Characters of your VIN? KX70315 The cars vin does not match cas module vin cause cas has been swapped. |

Hey guys. Im his dad. A while back the CAS went bad so i bought a DME Key and CAS set so those three modules are a diff VIN
Now today his trans wasn't shifting so i bought a transmission valve module and since we put that in the car wont start When we were having CaS issues before i downloaded the BMW tools suite. I have all the E89 files. The is a GM trans car I can navigate around the software but when is comes to identifying the modules and files im lost Any insight helps or ill even pay someone to remote into the laptop and program all these modules so the car works. The car is mechanically in good shape, itll be a shame to not have it working because of coding. |

In your photo of INPA Screen (INPA > Functional Jobs > F4 > F1 Error Memory, ALL Modules, there is NO "18 EGS" which is the GM6 (GS1912) Module. Check fuse F6, 15 Amp, which supplies voltage to EGS when Ignition ON (KL30G active). If intact, also check for continuity to Chassis Ground at the Brown wires, X8500/13 & X8500/16 (Sockets #13 & #16 of Round X8500 Connector at transmission. There should ALSO be battery voltage at X8500/14, Red wire, with Ignition ON (KL30G active). If you have BOTH Voltage Supply & Ground at the X8500 connector, then there is likely an issue with the PT-CAN wiring at X8500/2 Yellow wire, or X8500/6 Black wire. If you need a Multimeter, an entry-level model, ~ $10, like linked below, is all you need: https://www.harborfreight.com/electr...ter-59434.html https://www.amazon.com/s?k=multimete...f=nb_sb_noss_1 ISTA wiring diagrams, with X8500 Connector View, for your 9/2006 build 2007 328i E90 N52 are attached to NEXT POST.
