New N54 DSSR from Turner
I just came across this DSSR for n54 cars from Turner after waiting way to dam long for AKG (I don't think they will ever be back in stock for the n54 variant dssr
![]() Says it replaces the PN for the same selector rod on my 335is which is the curved very tight option so hoping it works, I'll probably purchase in the next months and pair with the Dinan ssk I have had sitting around waiting to be installed https://www.turnermotorsport.com/p-2...xoCMg0QAvD_BwE

Saw it as well am planning on adding this too sometime this summer as part of a full shifter refresh, so we may be on the same install schedule. I’m assuming it’ll be the same results as others who have installed a similar part in the past (e.g. Vehicular DIY here )

yeah the oe has a pretty aggressive bend, was always sus how this might work. even their ssk kit gives a different shift plate/ball holder mount that raise the pivot up for clearance. tried to be lazy and just replace the shifter when i got their ssk kit and the oe rod hit the flex disc, so had to install the whole unit

So instead of returning it, I actually ended up taking the shifter arm out and grinded down the area where it was rubbing. probibly took out a quarter inch deep like 2.5 inches long. quite a bit of material but not too much in comparison to the size of the arm. It works fantastic now,

Finally got it installed today, and the conclusion is that its 100% worth it (installed at the same time with other upgrades, so can't isolate how much of an improvement by itself). Posted my feedback here: https://www.e90post.com/forums/showp...ostcount=26123
Also fit an '07 without any issue, so I suspect after a certain time in the 2008 model year, BMW moved to the longer shifter rod. |
