PDC Not Beeping
Hi All,
I have a 2008 E92 325i VIN PX90510. It only has rear PDC so no PDC button. The system appears to be working fine but it doesn't beep when reversing. I have a Creader Elite and can communicate with the PDC module ok and verify it sees reverse gear engage and all sensors measure ok but when I go to component activation and ask it to beep - nothing. I have the Professional radio but I notice that under audio settings these is no option to change PDC volume as it says in my hand book there should be. There is the option to change the gong volume only. If I access RAD2 component activation and ask it to play the rear PDC beep it does but the volume is low. I've tried a new PDC module to no avail. My understanding of how the system works is the PDC uses the K_CAN to talk to the BCM which then sends the request to the radio to make the beeping sound. I've checked all the connectors for corrosion etc on the PDC the BCM and radio and all seems fine. The fact I can talk to the PDC and radio would also suggest all the wiring is ok. I'm just at a loss now how to diagnose why the beep request signal from the PDC is not being acted on by the radio. No fault codes are stored. Any ideas guys? |
