Coolant Flush with Distilled Water?

Hey guys, just wanted to double check. Because I’ve heard BMW is very specific with its coolants. But I’m looking do to a coolant flush. First starting with draining the entire system and only adding distilled water. And the flushing it 3 more times. I’ll keep an eye on my temp. This what I do with all my cars, it’s just my first BMW and when the flush is complete I’ll add 50/50 of BMW OEM coolant.

It certainly isn't going to hurt anything, but this seems WAY over doing it. If you really drain it (radiator drain, plus pull a hose on the pump, for example) then replacing it with fresh is plenty effective.

PS: For my next used car I'm tracking you down....

I did the exact same thing (maybe flushed it 4 times?), pretty sure its the correct way to do it. I fucked up by leaving it in a shop to find my coolant leak and when they found and swapped the broken hose they topped it off with generic blue coolant... I left the coolant concentrated on purpose because I knew it was leaking and forgot to tell them.
The car keeps around 100-110 C with it reaching 118 once or twice since then. But I'm pretty sure the coolant type/composition mainly affects how it reacts with the surfaces on the engine block and etc., and even then the corroding process will take a long time.

Any opinions on Zerex-G48 coolant, I was originally going buy BMWs OEM concentrate from FCP euro but that will take a couple days to come in as I have 1 more day to get her to pass emissions.
