2EFF (Electric fan, self-diagnosis) Code on N54

Hello after driving on the highway for maybe 10 minutes today I noticed when I got off my car had gone into limp mode. No dash lights but when I checked the codes I had 2EFF Electric fan, self-diagnosis. It's been hot here in Charlotte so my fan has been coming on and I pulled over and noticed it wasn't running. Got home and had someone start the car and I can see the blade stutter for a second but never actually come on. I've read through the forums and only really see instances of the 2EFF code where the persons fan is still running normally. Is it 100% a bad fan? Any information would be greatly appreciated thank you.

And to be clear, not a TYC one!

BTW, which boy’s hole (city) are you in?

I know things are worlds better than they were ten years ago, but I still finding life in Canada to be infuriating when it comes to online shopping. So many things I want either don’t ship here, or it’s exorbitantly expensive…

Were you able to warranty your TYC fan?

BMW Fault Code Lookup Definition of Fault Code 2EFF:
2EFF | DME: Electric fan, self-diagnosis | msd80 | Engine electronics

See "Service Plan" & "Service Notes" in LINK below for Details/Tests:
https://bmwfault.codes/XMLDiagView?d...MAMwA5ADAANAA=

ALWAYS look for obvious/cheap "FIX" before throwing Part$. Taking the time to check "BMW Fault Code Lookup" often SAVES time/money:

Glad you found the cause & got "Cheap Fix".
