Steering feels "locked", very hard to turn. E90 335i N54
My E90 335i N54's steering feels very locked, and it is very hard to turn.
I started getting the battery light as soon as this problem started. I first thought the problem was with my axle, but everything else drives and feels completely fine except for the steering. I also don't hear any other weird noises. I think I might just need PS fluid, but how do I troubleshoot to see what is really wrong? |

Hello e90speedster,
I am not 100% sure that my experience will be the same for your case but ... a few months ago while I was driving my E90 I suddenly heard a metallic sound like something felt inside the car, like something broke. Then immediately after that I had a signal for the battery charge of the car and also the steering wheel was not working properly and I couldn't turn almost. I took my car to the official BMW service and it turns out that this had to be changed: I don't know the name of this part in English as I am not native English speaker but I suppose it's called Crankshaft Pulley-Vibration Damper. I hope that helps but if you can afford it, I recommend you to check with BMW service. Good luck. |
