Advice for repair on front bumper

Hey, I've been doing general scratch repair around the car with 3000 and 5000 grit sandpaper along with polish and wax and have gotten some great results. Will that technique be worth my time here? Would love to get the bumper looking better without shelling out the thousand it would be to get a new painted one. Thanks.

I usually use 2000 grit followed by meguiars compound. Comes out pretty good.

It seems that bumper is damaged through all the paint layers.
This will not "buff out". You need to add some paint material first.

There are some good repair videos on YouTube involving touch up paint but not spray equipment that you might look at. Pretty fair results.
