Technics Harness? Is that it?

Where else can I get something similar to a Technics Harness? or maybe an old one lying around? I'd have thought some company would have started making them or BMW.
Did the guy making them just get sick of dealing with people, or just sell his BMW? Trying to install a different amp seems really difficult....or is it as easy as doing it with RCAs?

Before you seek a harness you need to know which of the three common BMW stereo systems you have installed.
(the head unit is not the stereo system which is a certain combination of speakers and amps or no amp)
To find out which system you have use Mdecoder.com
676 = Hi Fi 677 or 688=Logic 7 aka Top Hi Fi aka Harmon Kardon the absense of these codes mean base system
only issued in the 2010 to 2011.5 years in the United States.

Have you tried Ebay as far as I know when I last looked only the Technic BASE system harness in some configurations
was not available.

You must know what you are starting out with!

If you have the Logic 7 system it is hard to install .
There is only one amp that I am aware of that is compatible and that is the Mobridge amp .
This is because of the Fiber optic connection.
It still can be modified or retrofitted with something else it's just a lot more work.
Do not trust your average stereo shop to be able to do this .

Way ahead of you...

I got all that. Including replacing the front mid and tweet with Morels Hybrid style speakers. Such an improvement! I was going to wait and see what it sounds like with a decent amp (had an Alpine PDX lying around) before replacing the underseat speakers. This would be my 5th full system install, last 2 were an active set with Zapco amps and dsps. It's just this German wiring makes me feel like a rookie.

You said only the Base Harness isn't available? I have the HIFi system, so that would be the one I need. I get no rely from the Technics PnP Harness website. Are they on vacation, or out of business?

Did you check the link it seems be active.
I went to it and pulled up both the 676 and 677 harness both are listed.

https://technicpnp.com/cart/
I was able to put an order in the cart.
Don't see why you need to talk to them as it's a pretty simply item.
Hundred of people have used them here.

You should order yourself if you want other power cable options.

It's worth spending the money on this because it makes for a very simple amp install.
All the cables are labeled and there are several power kit options.

I have seen other break out connectors on ebay they don't include the relay or power kits though.
Some amp vendors actually have this kind of adapter such as match that is for there own amp to make them plug and play.

I hesitated to place an order because on the site he states he's there to help with questions or concerns about what you're trying to do. Seems like he wants to help you do things right the first time. His unresponsiveness makes me think it's an old site. It's been around 10 years since he started selling these, right?

If you believe orders are being fulfilled, I'll take your word for it. Worse that can happen is I have to have charges reversed after a couple of weeks if I never get a harness.

This is pretty straightforward as a way to connect the amp the connector plugs right into the factory connector and breaks out all the signals . The only think that might be a little confusing is the relay . The 12 Volt line on the existing harness is used as the Control Line for switching the amp on and 12 Volts from the battery is what gets switched. He leaves you some options on how you want to connect the Power Line to the Battery .
If he didn't have it I don't believe he would take orders for it.

attempting to order

new member; reviewing how to DIY base system upgrade. 2010 328i sedan made after 3/09, I just went to Technic web page to order, or contact. I was unable to contact to confirm proper harness required, however if you go to the HOME page, you enter year and oem system, that will yield his available products, with notes and applications, for the upgrade.
However, this product (Stereo 2/4 Harness) has 6 separate harnesses/pigtails, each with bare wire ends, so that tells me I'll be splicing. None of the connectors look like they are 25 or 26 pin that would involve the back of the head unit. So.....I'm thinking these just splice into the 4 speaker level channels coming out of the HU. I'm not sure I need a custom harness to take my oem 4 channels into a DSP, then into the aftermarket amp.

https://technicpnp.com/product/stereo-24-harness/

One basic question: Does the existing 4 channel stereo utilize fiber optic wires or traditional braided 16 or 18 ga speaker wires?
Thanks in advance

My concerns were all for not!

I asked if, after many years, Technics still sold his magical musical harness. People said "yes he does!". I laid down some funds, and just like that, a wiring harness to make pulling together the sound for my ride so easy, appeared on my doorstep!

Thanks!!!
